Les Ailes Du Cœur
Founded in 2012, Les Ailes de Coeur is a young women-led, locally-focused national organization in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The organization has extensive experience in promoting girls’ rights, leadership building, SRHR, advocacy, and social norms change approaches for preventing child marriages.
With its Changemakers grant, Les Ailes du Couer will use a gender-transformative approach to sensitize community, religious, and family leaders on the harmful gender norms and beliefs underlying child marriage. The organization will also create safe spaces for girls where they can develop leadership skills, get support to continue their education, and become economically empowered.

The Changemakers grant provides financial support for our organization, enabling us to continue our fight against early and forced marriages and unions and to bring about systemic change in our communities.
Our vision is for girls to enjoy their childhoods and realize their dreams, to be able to make choices and plan their futures. We want girls to serve as role models in the community in the fight against child marriage and early unions.
