Annette Ashaba

Program Advisor – Uganda

Annette leads the implementation of our programs in Uganda, including strategy development, planning, grant distribution, and strategic relationship-building. She supports our partners in the country, ensuring that our values and guiding principles are upheld through all our activities.

Annette brings a wealth of experience in sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), child protection, health systems strengthening, government and NGO capacity strengthening, M&E, and strategic partnerships to her role at the Girls First Fund.

She has worked in Central and Eastern Africa with a special focus on girl-led projects working to end child marriage. She has also supported approaches to build community resilience and facilitated projects to support formerly abducted children. Annette also spearheaded child-led research to study the circumstances of children who are caregivers.

Annette has aided in building capacity for a local government and civil society organizations to respond to the needs of vulnerable children.
