Girls First Fund Announces Leadership Transition
After six years of dedicated and transformative leadership, Girls First Fund (GFF) Director Fanta Touré will transition from her role to pursue a new professional opportunity.
The Girls First Fund Board, team, and partners are immensely grateful for Fanta’s leadership, vision, and stellar commitment, which have been instrumental to the growth of the Fund and our impact in the communities we support.
As Director, Fanta led the Girls First Fund to build a strong foundation to deliver our mission of championing community-led efforts to end child marriage and advance gender equality. Over the past six years, we have partnered with community-based organizations and national level organizations to successfully promote important initiatives and programs to ensure that girls have access to education, health, and the ability to create their own futures.
Our partnerships have contributed to communities being able to design their own solutions and create sustainable change that reflects their unique needs and cultures. We are already seeing how our model and approaches are helping to build confidence, foster resilience, and create pathways to better, happier and more just futures for girls everywhere.
“Fanta’s leadership has helped GFF to build a stronger and more connected network of partners, supporters, and champions around the world, enabling us to drive positive impact and create lasting change. Her legacy is visible in the remarkable achievements we will continue to celebrate. We thank her for her immense contributions and wish her great success in her next chapter.” - Maitri Morarji, GFF Board Chair said.
The Girls First Fund remains committed to our mission and to our partners. Our belief in the lasting impact that can be driven by the passion and expertise of local leaders will continue to be the cornerstone of the Fund’s strategy. We are confident that this transition will be a strategic opportunity to build upon our strong foundation and continue our vital work.
While we launch the search for a new Director, the Senior Leadership Team at the Girls First Fund will proceed with a co-leadership model that will facilitate a smooth transition and prevent any disruptions to our work.
We look forward to sharing more updates as the search progresses.
