The Girls First Fund has launched the second cohort of our Changemakers Girls’ Council, a committee of adolescent girls and young women convened to co-create the Fund’s Changemakers grants program.
Our Changemakers program was launched in 2024, following a year of consultations and co-creation with our first Girls’ Council, comprising 11 girls from Africa, Asia and Latin America & the Caribbean.
This year, the Girls’ Council was launched with 17 girls and young women aged between 16 and 25 years, drawn from ten countries in different regions of the world. This cohort collaborated across seven languages to design the grant criteria and identify priority countries for this round of the program. They will also make the final selection of grantees from a pool of nominated organization implementing innovative approaches to end child marriage and advance gender equality.
Our changemakers grants will provide one year of flexible, core funding – with the possibility for renewal – to organizations operating in specific Asian, African, and Latin American contexts.
