Amal Foundation
Founded in 2014, Amal Foundation is a woman-led organization, delivering programs on education, economic empowerment, and climate change in the rural areas of the Bogra District where communities face significant economic hardship and child marriage is common.
With their Changemakers grant, Amal Foundation will expand its Child Marriage Prevention Loan (CMPL) program, which provides interest-free business loans to low-income families with girl children to address their economic needs, reduce vulnerabilities, help them keep their daughters in school, and lower their risk of early marriage.

With GFF’s Changemakers grant, we are more motivated than ever to accelerate our fight against child marriage in Bangladesh. This support will deepen and expand our mission, allowing us to reach overlooked, high-risk and economically vulnerable families before a marriage is arranged. We can now intensify school-based campaigns, provide livelihood opportunities to parents, and champion girls’ education as a pathway to dignity and independence.
Through this grant, we have an opportunity to work in a very challenging community and for the first time, we will also include some girls with disabilities. It will help us to learn how to support girls with disabilities in a respectful, meaningful way and give us practical experience that we can apply across all our future projects.
At its core, this partnership is more than financial support; it is a shared commitment to protect girls from child marriage and build communities where prevention becomes sustainable without outside intervention. One glimmering beauty is GFF’s allocated fund associated with promoting staff and organizational wellness and wellbeing, which is rare to find in other partnerships. This component can be a great thrust to make staff more spirited to work enthusiastically.
We dream of a community where girls will grow with their full potential, where all the prejudices and superstitions that forbid girls from excelling in life will be abolished. We are not just preventing child marriages, we are nurturing confidence, ambition, and a future where every girl can stay in school, dream freely, and determine her own destiny.
